HUNTINGTON BEACH, California/USA (Monday, July 30, 2012) ? The 2012 Men?s ASP Prime rated Nike US Open of Surfing is LIVE in clean one-to-three foot (.5 metre) waves at the famed Huntington Beach Pier.

The 2012 Nike US Open of Surfing has attracted nearly 30 ASP WCT surfers and today?s proceedings will see the majority of the world?s best surfers take to the water in heats 1 through 18 of Round 1.

Up first this morning will be two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS), 31, Orange County surfer Tanner Gudauskas (San Clemente, CA), 24, former ASP North America Pro Junior Series Champion Evan Geiselman (New Smyrna Beach, FL), 18, and Nathan Hedge (AUS), 33.
