COOLANGATTA, QLD/AUS (Wednesday, May 30, 2012) ?Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS), 21, current ASP Women’s World No. 2 has been crowned Australian Bachelorette of the Year by pop culture website pedestrian.tv.
Fitzgibbons took the inaugural title over a crop of young Australian ladies from a variety of fields including; athletes, journalists, TV Stars, musicians and artists. Fitzgibbons has become an Australian sporting icon after finishing runner-up to the ASP Women’s World Title for the past two years, her popularity helped her win this latest accolade with the winner decided by a combination of public voting and an expert judging panel.
Fitzgibbons won the most recent event on the ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, the Billabong Rio Pro, and narrowed the gap between herself and ratings’ leader Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 24. With only two stops left on tour and a small gap between the front runners, it’s sure to be an exciting finish to the 2012 season.
