Bells Beach, Torquay, VIC/AUS (Thursday, January 2, 2014) - The inaugural Piping Hot Surf Festival will get underway tomorrow and will be the first Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) event for 2014 with ASP Men’s and Women’s 1-Star QS divisions as well as ASP Australasia Pro Junior Men’s and Women’s divisions.
Piping Hot has been an Iconic Australian surf brand for decades and Danielle Lowe, General Manager of Piping Hot said that this event is a way of giving back to the sport and celebrating what their brand is all about.
“Piping Hot is really proud and excited to be kicking off the 2014 competitive season at Bells Beach, especially on the back of such an exciting string of ASP events in 2013. It’s important we give back to the sport that made us who we are, and the Piping Hot Surf Festival is the perfect way to do it,” said Lowe.
Cody Robinson (Torquay, VIC/AUS) will be looking to make his mark in both Pro Junior and the QS divisions as he takes to the water at his home break for the Piping Hot Surf Festival. Robinson is one of the most exciting up-and-coming surfers from the world renowned Torquay region and will be one to watch on this year’s ASP Australasia Pro Junior Series.
“It means a lot to have an ASP 1-Star event and a Pro Junior at Bells,” Robinson said. “It helps me push my surfing in competition coming up against surfers from interstate. It also means just that bit more because it’s my hometown everyone will be supporting me at my home break. I hope I can do them proud!”
