BOBBY MARTINEZ WINS THE BILLABONG PRO MUNDAKA
Mundaka, Basque Country, Northern Spain (Wednesday October 13, 2006)Friday the 13th was lucky for Bobby Marinez and Kelly Slater. In less than epic Mundaka, Kelly Slater won his semi final heat over Joel Parkinson to clinch his eighth world title. Bobby Martinez charged his way past Dean Morrison on his way to face the new champ in the final. Howerver, the final was all Bobby. IRONS AND FANNING OUT OF THE TITLE RACE

The surf was a fun 3-4 foot and the surfing was impressive. The contest progressed though the 3rd heat of the quarter finals.
