WANNING, Hainan Island/China (Tuesday, November 27, 2012) – The 2012 CITIC PACIFIC ShenZhou Peninsula Pro hosted by Wanning, the event that will decide the 2012 ASP World Longboard Champion got underway at Riyuewan Bay today. The surf is 3 foot (1 – 1.5 meters) and the world’s best longboarders are all set to go.
“We’ve moved down the beach to a more consistent bank,” Contest Director Dane Jordan said. “The surfers are excited to get out there and test the waters, Round 1 is non elimination so it gives them a chance to warm-up and get into the swing of things. This event uses the same format as the men’s WCT, in Round 1st place moves directly into Round 3 and 2nd and 3rd move to Round 2.”
