TEAHUPO’O, Tahiti (Saturday, August 17, 2013) – The Billabong Pro Tahiti, Event No. 6 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), has been placed on hold this morning with event organizers reconvening at 1:30pm to make another call.
“As expected, the swell we had on offer yesterday has diminished slightly but there may be a pulse coming through in a few hours,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “We’ll return to Teahupo’o at 1:30pm to assess conditions for the possible recommencement to Round 3 at 2pm.”
When competition resumes, up first will be Julian Wilson (AUS), 24, up against Adam Melling (AUS), 28, in Heat 9 of Round 3.

The medium size SW swell that was showing on Friday will be followed by a similar size, mid period SW swell Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday. Easing surf takes over on Monday. We continue to watch for a medium size or better South swell for Friday the 23rd, although wind may prove to be problematic.
