COOLANGATTA, QLD/Australia (Friday, February 15, 2013) – The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) are in the process of finalising plans for the surfing world’s gala awards night – the 2103 ASP World Surfing Awards – to be held at the QT hotel, Surfers Paradise, QLD on Feb 28.
The 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards will celebrate the achievements from the 2012 competitive season, while at the same time officially launching the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour, with the men’s and women’s first event commencing just two days later.
The night will feature musical performances from Australian artists Emma Louise and Something With Numbers and will be presented by American action sports host Pat Parnell and Channel 9 Australia sports reporter Roz Kelly.
“The ASP World Surfing Awards Night is the most prestigious event in professional surfing,” Dave Prodan, ASP spokesperson, said. “It’s a time to celebrate those who have achieved our sport’s highest honor and we’re excited about the new venue and format for this year’s awards. In addition to this new showcase for the ASP World Surfing Awards, the evening will also be webcast LIVE via Youtube as well as several broadcast outlets around the world. We appreciate all the support we’ve had thus far and look forward to a great evening.”
The 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards will be broadcast on cable TV networks in Australia, Hawaii, USA, South America and Europe as well as the Live YouTube.
