MARGARET RIVER, WA/Australia (Thursday, March 21, 2013) - The highly anticipated swell has arrived at Surfer’s Point Margaret River, and the call has been made to resume competition starting with Round 3 of the women’s draw. The surf is in the four foot range (1.5 meters) and both Women’s Round 4 and Men’s Round 96 will be run and won today, following Round 3 of the women’s this morning.
Stop No. 2 of 8 on the ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, the 2013 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro plays a vital role in deciding this year’s ASP Women’s World Champion.
The Drug Aware Margaret River Pro is also the first men’s ASP PRIME rated event for the 2013 season, offering maximum points towards 2014 ASP World Championship Tour qualification campaigns.
“The swell has arrived and everyone is pumped to get underway,” ASP Australasia General Manager Dane Jordan said. “The surf is looking really fun and by day’s end we will have the women’s Quarterfinalists decided and be finished all of the men’s Round of 96.”
