BARRA DA TIJUCA, Rio De Janeiro/Brazil (Saturday, May 11, 2013) – The final day of the Colgate Plax Girls Rio Pro has been called on this morning, with the Quarterfinals commencing at 7:30am in clean one-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at Barra da Tijuca.
Stop No. 5 of 7 on the 2013 ASP Women’s World Championship Tour (WCT), the Colgate Plax Girls Rio Pro enjoyed a full day of high-performance action from the world’s best female surfers yesterday, setting the pace for this morning’s dramatic culmination.
“The swell has dropped slightly, but we still have clean conditions and we’ll be taking advantage of today’s surf as it will be the best remaining in the women’s window,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “Quarterfinals will commence at 7:30am and we will have an event champ by day’s end. Good luck to all our remaining competitors.”
