Seth Moniz (HAW), 15, will surf in the Vans Pro Junior Round of 32 when competition resumes.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia/USA (Thursday, August 22, 2013) - After monitoring conditions throughout the morning, a lay day has been called for the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 4-Star Vans Pro and Vans Pro Junior due to flat conditions.
The Vans Pro and Vans Pro Junior kicked off competition during the first three days of the event waiting period, narrowing both the Men’s and Junior’s field down to the Round of 32. While flat conditions look similar for Friday, August 23, a new swell is expected to deliver for Saturday.
“As expected, we have pretty much flat conditions with only occasional one foot waves on offer this morning and have called competition off for today,” Brian Robbins, ASP North America Tour Manager said. “We’re in an excellent position to capitalize on the new swell expected for the weekend, but will return tomorrow morning to check conditions for a 7am call.”
