WANNING, Hainan Island, China (Tuesday, November 26, 2013) - After over a week of non-stop good surf at Riyue Bay, the world’s best longboard surfers saw a much smaller ocean this morning and organisers decided on a lay-day on day 2 of the Riyue Bay ASP World Longboard Championships presented by Wanning.
One to two feet waves with clean winds were still quite surfable but with a favourable forecast ahead everyone will enjoy a fun day and probably search out and surf some quality near-by beach breaks.
“A significant drop in swell today and with a great forecast ahead we will wait for the better and bigger swells so we’ll be back for an early check-in tomorrow morning to assess conditions” said Contest Director Dane Jordan.
With this event crowning the 2013 ASP World Longboard Champion it’s essential to get the best conditions throughout the entire waiting period.
When the event re-starts round 2 heat one will see Hawaii’s Kai Sallas up against local surfer Zac Mo.
Live scores, photos, daily web highlights will be available via the event website at www.china.prosurfinglive.com
