Michel Bourez (PYF), 27, warms up at Keramas. “The Spartan” will take on Gabriel Medina (BRA), 19, in Round 3 of the Oakley Pro Bali.
KERAMAS, Bali/Indonesia (Monday, June 24, 2013) – Oakley Pro Bali event organizers have called competition off for today with only small one-to-two foot (0.5 metre) waves on offer at the primary site of Keramas.
Stop No. 5 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Oakley Pro Bali completed Rounds 1 and 2 in excellent conditions at the high-performance righthander and could potentially resume competition as early as tomorrow.
“Small surf today and we’ve called a lay day for competition,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “Swell projections have the biggest system of the window moving into the area in the coming days so we’ll be back early tomorrow morning to make another assessment.”
Event organizers will reconvene at 6:30am to assess conditions for a potential 6:45am start.
When competition resumes, up first will be Taj Burrow (AUS), 35, up against Miguel Pupo (BRA), 21, in the opening heat of Round 3.
