SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Sunday, March 3, 2013) – The Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover, the opening stop of the 2013 ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, has been placed on hold this morning while officials further assess conditions.
“We have placed the women on hold this morning for a 10:30am call,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’re going to observe how the swell and tide plays with the conditions this morning and could see a women’s Round 1 start as early as 11am.”
When women’s competition commences, up first will be Courtney Conlogue (USA), 20, Laura Enever (AUS), 21, and Pauline Ado (FRA), 22, in the opening heat of the event.
The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, Stop No. 1 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour, has been called off for today.
When men’s competition commences, up first will be defending Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast champion Taj Burrow (AUS), 34, against Bede Durbidge (AUS), 30, and Raoni Monteiro (BRA), 30, in Heat 1 of Round 1.
