TAVARUA, Fiji (Monday, June 3, 2013) - A second consecutive lay day has been called for the Volcom Fiji Pro, Stop No. 4 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), with only small surf on offer at venues of Cloudbreak and Restaurants.
Improved conditions are expected to deliver for the remainder of the event window and organizers have decided to wait for the arrival of new swell to begin competition.
“Poor conditions again this morning so we’ve called competition off for today,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “We’ve got plenty of time available in the waiting period and will wait for a new swell to get things going here in Fiji.”

Wind and weather conditions will continue to improve over the next couple days with much lighter wind. Small, mixed southerly swell will give way to building, long period SW swell on Tuesday and into Wednesday. Solid SSW/SW swell is lining up for Thursday and Friday before easing into the weekend. Conditions look generally favorable at that time.
