SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal (Monday, October 14, 2013) – UPDATE: The Rip Curl Pro Portugal presented by Moche has just been put ON-HOLD until 1:30pm local time, due to the high tide making conditions inconsistent at the moment.
Event No. 9 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Rip Curl Pro Portugal plays a vital role in the hunt for the 2013 ASP World Title as well as the battle for elite tour requalification.
“We’ve seen a swell arrive early this morning and we’ll be recommencing competition immediately,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We have clean conditions this morning but will keep an eye on the wind, making adjustments to the call accordingly. Good luck to all our competitors today.”
Up first when competition recommences will be C.J Hobgood (USA) against Yadin Nicol (AUS) in Heat 5 of the second round.
