Kai Otton (AUS), 33, will surf against Sebastian Zietz (HAW), 25, in Heat 5 Round 3 of the Volcom Fiji Pro.
CLOUDBREAK, Tavarua/Fiji (Monday, June 10, 2013) – After a day of assessing conditions, event organizers have opted to call competition off for the day, likely recommencing tomorrow in projected improved surf.
Event No. 4 of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Volcom Fiji Pro called its fourth, consecutive lay day today and will resume competition once conditions improve.
“Unfortunately, conditions didn’t manifest for us today as we would have liked and we’ve called competition off for the afternoon,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “The swell is meant to fill in overnight and we’ll reconvene tomorrow morning at 6:30am.”
When competition resumes, up first will be Jeremy Flores (FRA), 25, against Miguel Pupo (BRA), 21, in Heat 4 Round 3 of the Volcom Fiji Pro.
Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow at 6:30am to assess conditions for a possible 8am start.
