ABC Sports and the World of X-Games are delivering the opening stop on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP World Championship Tour, the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast, to US television this Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 3pm ET.
Held at the world-class venue of Snapper Rocks, the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast hosted the world’s best surfers in their opening campaigns for the 2014 ASP World Title.
On the men’s side, reigning two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning lead a field that included global icons Kelly Slater, Adriano de Souza, Joel Parkinson, Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow and C.J. Hobgood as well as up-and-comers John John Florence, Gabriel Medina, Nat Young, Miguel Pupo and Mitch Crews.
Reigning two-time ASP Women’s World Champion Carissa Moore lead a bevy of the world’s best female surfers that included Stephanie Gilmore, Lakey Peterson, Sally Fitzgibbons, Courtney Conlogue, Tyler Wright, Bianca Buitendag, Malia Manuel and more.
